Alicia & Tim Dalhouse have always been entrepreneurs. When they found the Kona Plaza Shops for sale in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, after several years of COVID-related neglect, they were excited about the possibilities. So, they set out on a mission to revitalize the Shops and bring some much needed new life to Kailua Village.

 

They had always wanted to own a cafe and Kona Plaza Shops had a great space to build one with over 3,000 square feet and the basic bones of a kitchen.  Drawing on their love for the ocean and SCUBA diving, Alicia & Tim decided to create an undersea theme for their cafe.  The result is yummy food served in a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere that educates guests about the amazing sea life in the beautiful Kona waters just steps from the cafe.

 

On your visit to Kona, please stop at the Hungry Honu Smoothie Bar & Cafe for a 100% Kona Coffee espresso, lunch, or an afternoon real fruit smoothie and to talk story with Alicia & Tim. Who knows, Howie may even show up!
